Relaxing stay with a view

We spent 2 nights in a Traditional King Room with an amazing view of Main Street. The grill was delish, and our meals were on point! The adult-only hot tub was a nice touch. Only thing was the room needed some updating here and there.

Charming hotel, clean rooms, we enjoyed the convenient 24-hour reception for travel tips and the delicious breakfast at the restaurant.

The historic building features a lovely pool area and a cozy grill room serving delightful local products. Our room was bright, clean, and offered stunning views of the water, enhancing our relaxing stay. A minor inconvenience arose when our room was not ready until almost 5 PM, which was understandable given potential staffing issues. The experience was slightly hindered by an unprofessional remark overheard during a dining experience, but overall, the friendly staff and beautiful surroundings made for an enjoyable visit.

The charming resort featured historical elegance blended with modern comforts. A highlight was the delightful cured meats served, complementing our overall dining experience. However, breakfast was marred by long waits and a rude waiter, disappointing for the price we paid. While transporting luggage from the ferry was stress-free, the morning meal experience surely needs improvement.

Our family had such a blast exploring the island's gorgeous trails. We enjoyed scenic bike rides with our kids, stopping at Fort Holmes and soaking in all the vibrant autumn colors. At the hotel, the nightly piano music on the porch added a magical touch to our evenings.

In my wife’s opinion, they could really improve the kids' meal options. The restaurant's selection was somewhat limited, which made it tricky for our little ones to find things they liked.

island house hotel was a delight! our traditional king room was clean and spacious, and we loved the view of the lake from the veranda porch. every staff member was super friendly and helped make our stay comfortable. it's conveniently located just down the street from the main shopping area!

The dormer room was clean and charming, but the shower had poor water pressure.

The Island House offers a fantastic location close to downtown with lovely views. However, my experience was slightly marred by inconsistent luggage service and some overpriced dining options. The hotel’s charm and helpful staff made the trip enjoyable overall.

The location strikes a good balance between being close to downtown and shielded by the park, providing a nice blend of attractions and tranquility. The ice house and pool area offer a peaceful retreat, perfectly suited for unwinding after a day’s adventures.

Our room felt cramped—definitively on the small side—and noise from the staff's constant comings and goings was less than ideal for a restful stay. The lighting from the staff entrance was overwhelming at night thanks to apparent motion sensors, making it tough to catch some Z's.

We had a wonderful time biking around the island and soaking in the breathtaking views, especially at Arch Rock. The on-site bike rental was super convenient, making it easy for the whole family to explore together. Our room had a cozy vibe that really added to our stay.

In my wife’s opinion, the breakfast options were lacking. Having more family-friendly meal choices available on-site would be great.

It was just a commendable fit for strolling in Mackinac Island with excellent value for money. The hot chocolate at breakfast was the best I've had in years. Make sure to inform the front desk about housekeeping services at check-in to avoid issues.
